A Brief History of Baccarat

For many baccarat is an unknown in the casino, you will often see the roped into exclusive lookout areas of the casino and is played by people who look like they know what they do and have the money to glacier ; nde. Most people who have even heard baccarat are ignorant about how you play and the origin of this seemingly exclusive games, so I will try to enlighten you. First off, it is not an exclusive game, it is open to all and is not only very simple, but offers the lowest house advantage in casino. Its origin is the source of much debate, but Ill go into what is considered to be the most accepted version. The French and Italians both argue that baccarat is their invention – Is it even thought likely that the earliest roots of the game can be traced back to a pagan ritual. This ritual decided the fate of a young virgin and consisted of nine spirits bath while she threw a nine-sided die. If she threw either an 8 or 9 when she became a priestess in the temple, a 6 or 7, she had to leave and never participate in any further religious activity, but rather frightening if she rolled in a 6 when she had to go down to the sea and drown themselves. Whether you believe it or not is up to you what is certainly more credible is that Baccarat (pronounced BAC – Car -  Ah) means zero in Italian, the reason for this is that the most common points for a card in the game is zero. Italian gambler Felix Faligurierein credited in coming up with the first version of the game in the 1480s, this game quickly crossed the northern Italian border and took hold in France. In France the game was picked up by the aristocracy and quickly became a game played by those with status and money. The French changed the rules a little and it became known as the Chemin de Fer, and this may well be why the French challenge Italians for ownership of this card game. So how did we get from the Chemin de Fer to modern Baccara In the original game Chemin de Fer, France an important feature was that the players actually got to take control of the bank and to the casino to make money a commission was changed when the bank has won. But this changed when the game moved further north and crossed the Channel in the UK. With these new rules came a new name for European Baccarat and Casino here controls the bank and a dealer down. In the early 20 Century Baccarat game made its way across the Atlantic to North America, where it quickly went out of fashion. In the 1950s, crossed the Atlantic again. But this time it went south, to Argentina, where it became popular in casinos in Mar del Plata, a hangout for the rich in South America. Baccarat next headed north to Cuba, where it became known as Punto Banco. Additional rule changes post Cuba leads us to the American version of Baccarat where players play casino rather than another. And it was just a few years after this that a guy named Tommy Renzoni brought the game to the casino floors of Las Vegas. You did a better idea then his first visit, but even today its air of exclusivity has prevented it from becoming so popular is it really should be, as I said earlier, it gives the best odds in the casino! The next obvious for Baccarat was to move into the online casino empire. Now, without the snobbish air that prevents many people from trying to even play in casinos, its a game that is ever increasing in popularity and is quickly becoming one of the best places for the intelligent players who must place their chips.
